OTSEGO -- One worker is dead and two others injured in an industrial accident at Mill Assist Services in Otsego, according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Department. The accident occurred shortly after 10 a.m. today as workers removed the end cap of a thick-walled hollow drum roller used in paper production.

Pressure was applied to the inside of the pipe when the endcap could not be removed. It released unexpectedly and violently gave way, striking one worker and killing him.

Two other employees were injured by debris from inside the pipe and sought treatment.

The names of the victims has not been released.
